Intake Meeting

After completing a free 15-min phone consultation, new clients can book their initial intake meeting for assessment, counselling, or consultation sessions. During these sessions, clients share their concerns and reasons for pursing support. Background information is shared and next steps are discussed.

Counselling is a therapeutic process by which understanding and healing can occur. It involves developing an honest and caring relationship between you and the counsellor, where you are free to share personal and challenging emotions. It is through this cooperative bond that allows you the freedom to explore feelings, challenge thoughts, and make informed decisions. Counselling is for individuals aged 10 and up. Examples of issues that bring individuals to counselling include, but are not limited to: Stress, Feelings of Sadness, Low Self-Esteem, Difficulty Making Decisions, Trauma, Anxious Feelings, Grief and/or Loss, Difficulties with Relationships/Friendships, Employment Stress, Lack of Motivation, Anger Management, etc.


Consultation

As parents we sometimes need help understanding and working with our children. Consultation allows you the time to discuss your parenting fears and frustrations in a non-judgmental and caring environment. Supervision sessions for clinicians.

Nicole Haughton, M.Ed., C.Psych., is a registered member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed her Master of Education at the University of Western Ontario in 2007. Nicole has several years of experience working in both in the education and private sectors. She provides psychoeducational assessments for individuals who require further clarification of their learning strengths and needs. She also provides psychotherapy and counselling services to children, adolescents and adults, as well as parenting support.

Nicole has travelled to many different parts of the world and loves to learn from and about others. She is passionate about health and lifestyle balance as well as implementing equitable practices towards all communities.

Jassie Nahar is a psychometrist working under the supervision of Nicole Haughton, M.Ed., C.Psych. Through her academic and professional training, she has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. She has worked in private clinics, university, and public school settings.

As a radicalized woman, Jassie values the importance of inclusion, diversity, and equity. She aims to create a safe space for her clients as they continue to embark on their journey to further understand their learning profiles. Jassie is fluent in English and Punjabi.

Outside of work, Jassie enjoys spending time with family and friends, viewing culturally-diverse media, and creating a lifestyle that stresses the importance of positive mental and physical health.
